Sleeping in a bed was magical. For the first time in a long time I slept through the night. So magical was this sleep that Alicia and I completely slept through our alarm and woke up about twenty minutes late. Thankfully we have packing down to a science so we were able to get everything together and still be on time for breakfast which was an amazing breakfast casserole made from farm fresh eggs and somew local fruit. Great way to get started because the day before I definitely did not eat enough protein at breakfast and bonked hard about thirty miles into the ride.
We were the first group to arrive back at the school, and slowly people began exchanging stories of what they had been up to since splitting up less than twelve hours before.

Ben and I headed out early because there were some glorious rumors about Sally, our host an cheat soul be awaiting us when we arrived at the house. The roads were pretty good and we had a great tailwind most of the way so we were able to arrive by 2. Along the way we saw some great scenery; this ride is definitely in my top five.
When we pulled into the driveway we were treated by Sally who asked us if we wanted a chocolate or a vanilla milkshake (I may or may not have put a cookie mine). The rumors were true because she had a pool and a great spread for lunch. We decided it was a good idea for us to go light at first lunch so we could enjoy what was in Dallas. As riders began to trickle in, we all hung out at the pool and enjoyed some great local beer.
After dinner a bunch of us headed out to one of the local honky tonk bars for some lives music and mechanical bull riding action (most of us had never done this before). We split up into a couple of cars and I was in charge of driving a diesel Expedition which definitely drove like a boat. Thankfully I was able to gets there and back in one piece.
