Bike Ride to Teec Nos Pos

Farmington to Teec Nos Pos: 71.3 miles

Total mileage: 2594.6 miles

It was back on the bikes this morning to cross another state line, or should I say four. Today was the day we could travel a few extra miles, twelve to be exact, and visit Four Corners where AZ, NM, UT and CO all meet up at one point. My group wanted make sure we could make it with plenty of time to walk around so we headed out sooner rather than later.

The first thirty miles were a breeze. Slight tail wind, rolling hills ... Basically we were crushing along and enjoying the sites and everyone's company. Off in the distance all morning we saw Shiprock which looked a bit out of place in the middle of a field. It was super cool to see how the light changed as the morning went on.

We had beaten the van to our lunch stop at 9 am so we decided to DM some breakfast. Jay worked his magic and we had a legit breakfast of beagle sandwiches, pancakes and biscuits and gravy at a local restaurant. I was awsome and we all commented on how much of a difference a hot breakfast makes over a cold one. From there we were still hungry so we hit up the Sonic for some free milkshakes. Welcome to the Bike and Build lifestyle.

The rest of the ride was fairly low key and included a ride into and out of a beautiful canyon. We knew we were going to have to pay for the ride down, but it was worthit. Around mile 51 we saw the van pulled over at the state line. We had officially made it to Arizona.

From there it was just a few miles down the road until we hit the turnoff for Four Corners.

While we were there we did meet a guy who was biking across the country, but from west to east. He was doing it solo with his family following him as support and raising money for a children's cancer camp.

We did do the touristy picture thing and stood in all four states at once.
