Once again we were packed up and ready to go early. This morning we had to meet up with Chris from Rebuilding Together by 8am for a police escort over a major bridge. One of the team leaders had tried to out together something, but was not able to do so. Chris apparently knew the the Mayor and was able to get a few strings pulled for us. It was quite a site as 25 bikers and two van drivers headed on down the road. We held up traffic for miles, especially once we got to the bridge. Being in a police escort was one offerings on my bucket list so I can now cross that off too.
The rest of the ride was pretty low key. The host of the evening was a high school so some of the riders decided to hop into an ice bath to help their muscles. A couple had never done one before so there were definitely some screams as they waited for the numbness to kick in. The other great thing about staying in a football house is that we were able to do tons of laundry in as fraction of the time!! It is the little thinks in life here people.
